Sustainable Logistics Center in Upper Austria

For our client, we had the opportunity to realize a truly exceptional project: the complete planning, supply, and installation of loading technology for a new, sustainably designed logistics center in Upper Austria. We took full responsibility not only for delivering the technical components but for the holistic execution of all 35 loading stations—from initial needs analysis and engineering design through to final commissioning. The entire construction project was carried out under extreme time pressure and yet was completed on schedule, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This achievement underscores our role as a reliable partner for complex logistics infrastructure projects in Austria—especially when deadlines, quality, and sustainability are equally critical.

As part of the project, a total of 35 loading stations were installed, all engineered for maximum efficiency, safety, and operational reliability. Each station was precisely tailored to the building’s structural conditions and the client’s operational requirements to ensure smooth loading and unloading processes even during peak daily operations. Component selection—from dock levelers and door seals to control systems—was consistently guided by criteria such as durability, ease of maintenance, and energy efficiency. The concept is complemented by 10 interior high-speed doors that serve as flexible zone separators. These doors enable clear spatial division within the approximately 10,900 m² warehouse hall, significantly optimizing internal logistics workflows. At the same time, they support compliance with hygiene or temperature-related zoning requirements—depending on the area—and reduce unnecessary energy losses through rapid opening cycles.

The planning and execution timeline for the entire site—comprising a logistics building of over 10,900 m² and an attached office wing of 800 m²—was exceptionally tight. The handover date was fixed early on, leaving virtually no room for delays. All trades therefore worked under significant time pressure. Our task was to deliver and install the loading technology on schedule—without compromising on quality or safety. Thanks to our decades of experience in loading technology, industrial doors, and end-to-end project management, we were able to plan precisely, identify bottlenecks early, and respond flexibly. Close coordination with architects, general contractors, and the client was crucial—and demonstrates how vital seamless collaboration is on large-scale projects to deliver top performance even under pressure.

This logistics center was awarded the Austrian State Prize for Architecture and Sustainability in 2014—a rare and prestigious recognition proving that ecological responsibility, economic efficiency, and architectural quality can be successfully combined. The energy-efficient building envelope, resource-conserving construction methods, and intelligent building technology all contributed to this honor—as did the long-term-oriented infrastructure, which includes our loading technology. Our durable systems with minimal energy consumption (e.g., through tight seals and fast door cycles) make a measurable contribution to the overall sustainability balance, underscoring that sustainability begins right at the loading dock.
